I will use this thread to test following, notifications, votes, nested replies, and profile links. Having several content types together should also make it easier to spot layout or permission problems.

Thanks. I tested that direction on this staging community. The main thing I want to confirm now is whether the interface makes the state obvious without needing to inspect logs or hidden settings.

We use a similar setup on a client site. The biggest improvement was keeping one small test case for each integration so we can isolate a problem before changing the full workflow.

That makes sense. I would also test the same flow once as a normal member and once as an administrator or moderator, because permission differences can make a working feature look inconsistent.

Agreed. A small repeatable test case also makes regression testing much faster after plugin updates.
