How are you onboarding new members into Bit Connect groups?

I am refining the onboarding flow for a private product community. The goal is to help new members understand which group to join and where to ask their first question without showing them too many instructions at once.

For those using Bit Connect groups, what has worked best: a pinned welcome topic inside each group, one central getting-started discussion, or a mix of both?
